75 Years iENA Nuremberg: Inventors' Trade Fair with New Date in Anniversary Year

The International Trade Fair "Ideas – Inventions – New Products" iENA will take place from Saturday, October 28 to Monday, October 30 at the Nuremberg Trade Fair Center and celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. Inventions from all over the world will be presented over three days at the iENA.

Nuremberg – In 1948, the trade fair organizer AFAG began organizing the Inventors and Innovations Exhibition in cooperation with the Bavarian Inventors' Association and the German Inventors' Ring. It all started with a small presentation of a few inventors in the Nuremberg Congress Hall.

In the following decades, the event has developed into the International Inventors' Trade Fair. Countless successful inventions and innovations were presented to the public for the first time at the iENA in Nuremberg, including, for example, the rolling suitcase, the igloo tent and the insulation rescue blanket, as well as technical developments from all areas of life, such as medicine, energy technology, environmental protection and safety.

After challenging years due to the pandemic, the iENA 2022 was able to close with a successful balance: With 530 inventions from 26 countries, the iENA already found its way back to internationality last year and thus set the course for this year's inventors' fair in Nuremberg. The managing directors of the trade fhow organizer AFAG, Henning and Thilo Könicke, are looking forward to welcoming inventors from all over the world to Nuremberg again this fall: "The iENA already proved last year that innovations are of high social importance, especially in challenging times. The iENA is finally more international again. This means that it is living up to its position as a meeting place for the inventor scene and serves to strengthen networking among the international inventor scene. For the iENA 2023, numerous national and international inventors and collectives have already announced their participation."

Due to scheduling conflicts with other international events, the iENA 2023 will take place for one time only on three days, from Saturday, October 28 to Monday, October 30. The highlight for the exhibiting inventors is the medal ceremony on the last day of the trade show, Monday, October 30. During the trade show, all inventions will be reviewed and evaluated by the iENA expert jury. The most promising inventions will receive awards at the official medal ceremony.

For inventors, the iENA offers the opportunity to network, establish contacts with potential investors and licensors, and present their innovations in personal discussions. In addition, the iENA offers technical information: The German Patent and Trademark Office DPMA, together with its partners, ensures a high quality of information on all aspects of patent and trademark rights.
