When Ideas Shape the Future: The International Inventors' Trade Fair iENA in Nuremberg
At the international trade fair “Ideas – Inventions – New Products” (iENA), held at the Messe Nürnberg, inventions from around the world are showcased. From clever everyday gadgets to sustainable solutions and forward-looking technologies, visitors to the trade fair can discover and try out innovations and talk directly with the inventors. iENA takes place from October 31 through November 2 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center.
Nuremberg – iENA Nuremberg is one of the world’s leading trade fairs for ideas, inventions, and new products, showcasing exciting new developments from around the globe over the course of three days. The fair offers an exclusive look at developments that could shape our daily lives and the economy of tomorrow. Numerous youth inventors also impress visitors at iENA with their innovative spirit.
International diversity is one of the hallmarks of the iENA inventors’ trade fair. Inventors, research institutions, and organizations from countries and regions such as Algeria, China, Germany, Indonesia, Croatia, Taiwan, and Poland use the fair as a platform for their innovations. The presence from Thailand will grow particularly strongly in 2026. In addition, a large delegation from Hong Kong, comprising inventors, educational institutions, and universities, will be represented at iENA for the first time. Saudi Arabia is partner of iENA 2026.

Inventors from Saudi Arabia will be presenting inventions at iENA that address environmental issues and AI, among other topics. Professor Dr. Mohammed Ali Al-Ghamdi is organizing the Kingdom’s participation as a partner at iENA 2026; he serves as a consultant to numerous organizations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence, and innovation. “It is a great honor for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to have been selected as a partner of iENA in 2026. iENA is a renowned and long-standing international trade fair whose history dates back to 1948. Investors, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, engineers, retailers, licensors, and consultants are expected to attend iENA, coming to Nuremberg to discover innovations for the world of tomorrow. Many of the developments on display are still in the pre-launch phase and are often presented to the public for the first time at iENA. In addition, iENA is open to visitors of the Consumenta consumer fair, which takes place concurrently; as a result, inventors, companies, investors, and end consumers come together directly at iENA, and there are opportunities to test new ideas and innovations in real-world settings. The German Patent and Trademark Office and the German Inventors' Association support inventors and provide information on important issues that arise as an innovation progresses from the initial idea to market readiness.
On Monday, November 2, iENA will be accompanied by the Nuremberg Innovation Congress. The Hack & Make creativity and technology festival will take place alongside iENA. It is aimed at creative minds, tinkerers, and the curious, and offers plenty for families to discover as well.
